Gospels Reading Plan

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

This statement by Paul in Hebrews 13:8 is probably one the simplest and yet most profound in Scripture. It has been quoted many times by Christians, from small group studies to sermons and even on television and various online programs. However, until we truly learn to meet Jesus for ourselves, the statement above is just that - a statement. Jesus came more than 2000 years ago to die for us, but He has, through the ages been reaching out to us and continues to do so even today. He wants us to discover Him individually and of course collectively through the Word.

We here at Erina are embarking on an exciting journey together in 2015. We will aim to, in church and in our personal lives, seek to discover and re-discover Jesus through the Gospels. Familiar passages that have been read many times will be re-read again, but the purpose here is not to aim for quantity, but quality.

The plan is designed with the busy lay person in mind - while it's a daily reading / study plan, the passages are short enough that you can catch up even as you miss a day. The plans will be in a laminated bookmark form available in the church foyer, or you can find them online here

And don't worry about the passages being too short - here are three suggested Bible study methods that will very quickly fill up your time and help you truly discover who Jesus is and what He wants to say to you today.

There will also be a weekly online blog commenting on the key study passage for the week, should wish to really extend your Bible study time. You can find the books in the additional reading here as well as here (to search periodicals / articles). Apps are also available for the iPhone / iPad as well as for Android

So join us in prayer and through the study of His Word, as we make 2015 a year of drawing closer to the Lord in preparation for Him to take us back to that heavenly home that awaits us!
